Searching across your tabs
Search looks through every visible tab at once, both tab names and note bodies, so you can find a note without remembering which tab it lives in.
Open search
Section titled “Open search”Click the magnifying-glass button in the tab strip, or press Cmd/Ctrl + K from anywhere. A search box opens over the page with the cursor ready.
How results work
Section titled “How results work”Start typing and results update live as you type:
- Each result shows the tab name and a snippet of the surrounding text, with your term highlighted.
- When a term appears more than once in a note, a count badge shows how many matches that tab has.
- Results are ordered with tab-name matches first, then by how many times the term appears, then by tab order.
- An empty query lists every visible tab as a quick jump list.
Search reads note bodies live each time, so results always reflect your latest edits. Hidden tabs are not searched.
Jump to a match
Section titled “Jump to a match”Move through results with the arrow keys (the list scrolls to keep the selection in view), or hover with the mouse. Press Enter or click a result to switch to that tab. Notes Tab scrolls the matching text into view and highlights it in solid blue for about ten seconds so you can spot it, then the highlight fades on its own.
Close search
Section titled “Close search”Press Escape, or click outside the search box, to close it without jumping anywhere.
